I'm setting up my first planted tank (high-tech) and I have a question about lighting. The tank is 29 gallons (18" tall) and I'll be using two 55w GE 9325K CF bulbs. Will this be enough lighting (3.8WPG) to successfully grow high-light plants like Limnophila aromatica, Glossostigma, Pogostemon stellatus, and Ludwigia inclinata?

since its high-tech, i think it should be 3 or more watts per gallon for tanks over 20 gallons. so 29x3=87watts should be minimum for ur high-tech. 55w won't be enough. im a newbie check out my first tank. its titled as "first tank"

3.8 WPG on a 29 gal should be fine for the plants you want. You'll also need to make sure you have a good Carbon source ( DIY/Sugar+Yeast or Pressurized CO2 ) and proper fertilizer regime ( N,P,K and micros) .
