Hi guys,

I just bought some floating red roots. I was curious on how I can make them more red and the roots larger. I seen some pics online and the roots look really large and red, which mine aren't. Lighting, ferts, dosing frequency, etc.

Thanks!

I get a deeper red with my red-root floaters when they are directly under the light. Plants more toward the edge of the tank that get less light remain more greenish. I've noticed that the older plants have larger root systems.

Nuts! So I gotta get CO2 setup for my tank then. Wouldn't dosing iron kill my shrimps?

Typical red tips: low nitrates, good iron, high light, good co2.....and patience.

They'll brighten up as they get larger and older. As they start to multiply and you pull some out, try to leave the bigger ones floating.
