It is easier to keep in check and not as invasive as duckweed but it is a fast grower. I haven't gotten any flowers yet and my roots are pink but not red. That is probably just my tank setup.

PS - I have some of those little ramshorn type snails in this tank. You "could" get eggs if that concerns you. I will try to pick them off if I see them.

I've always liked the way the look but I'm afraid they would shade out too much light to the rest of my tank. Have you had that problem?
