Hi everyone,

I'm overhauling my 75g into a South East Asian biotope and as such am removing all non-Asian plants replacing them with Asian ones. Prior to this decision I had been using Staurogyne repens as a ground cover, but as it's not native to Asia I will have to remove it.

If anyone knows of a plant native to Asia that can be used to form a ground cover, please let me know! I am also open to using plants native to India, even if it may not be South East.

Try Cryptocoryne parva. It's slow growing so you'll have to buy lots of it to look good.
oh, and also Hydrocotyle tripartita and Marsilea crenata.

These are good options, thank you Googling Hydrocotyle tripartita says its from Australia and New Zealand, but the other two are definitely on the table. I would really like to do a carpet with Crypt. parva but I imagine it would be pretty expensive.

hmm. Most sources says H. tripartita is from Asia/South East Asia. It's also known as H. sp Japan.
