Kevin:
If you want to pick them up have a 5" rhizome of Java fern to donate, plus a few stems of Mirophyllum mattogrossens and one of these http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+4393+16748&pcatid=16748
Kevin:Yes it is the HAS auction again, and I am calling on any and all members to donate some plants, fish or even equipment to auction off. The aution is on July 20, info is listed here http://www.houstonaquariumsociety.org/AUCTION PAGE-Summer.htm.
A lesson that we learned from the last auction, stick to the simple plants. Java Fern, mosses, Anubius go for good prices and will bring in the most revenue to the club. Rare plants that are not know to most fish people may just sit on the table unbought. So if you want to sell some rare stuff, if may be best to do it on this forum (APC) so that you target the people that appriciate those plants.
NASH will be bagging these up sometime at the end of this week, stay tuned for updates on location and time. If you can not bring items and want to donate please PM me and I will make arrangements.
Josh, It was a pleasure meeting both of you. we have quite a few members up in your neck of the woods. Definitely check us out if you ever get a chance. A planted tanks is not that far-off after one of our meeting.Aloha my friends. My wife and I were in Dans warehouse today and probably spoke to a couple of you about NASH (I was the guy talking about the sadness of all of the "political" aspects of many of the Houston clubs). Thank you all for the informative conversation. It was our first trip to Dan's place and we certianly will be back (although probably not as frequently as we would like.... its quite a drive from the woodlands...)
It was a pleasure meeting you all and, even though a planted tank is but a far-off hope for us at this point, I hope to learn as much as possible from you all.
Cheers,
Josh
