Hello! Natural in MI 😄

Hi everyone! I’m a newbie thanks to the kids wanting fish, and since I’m already obsessed with indoor and outdoor plants, thank goodness I found planted tanks on YouTube right away. My first tank was a used 10G with Fluval stratum and a female betta. I started reading Ecology of the Planted Aquarium not long after, and also learned about dirted deep substrate tanks. My 2nd tank was a used 20G and has one inch soil mixture capped with two inches of pool filter sand. It has mystery, ramshorn, and MT snails, and seven harlequin rasboras. Then, I used an unfiltered big glass punch bowl with soil and sand for the baby ramshorn snails that I found stuck to things after putting the rest in the 20G!
