I am trying to get a 10g Iwagumi style going. I have been working with my hardscape but I am having trouble envisioning it with the plants grown in and whether or not it will achieve a proper Iwagumi feel.

Are the rocks too small for the tank? Can you guys make some suggestions.

Sorry for the kind of bad photo, the glass is dirty and this is the best one out of the bunch I took.

I agree with cpark, the rocks do seem to be a little too small. In a 10 gal tank I would figure out what plants I want and then find rocks that I know will not be covered when the plants grow in. But I dunno, I've never tried an Iwagumi setup before.

HC will be 2" tall once it carpets. It might be an illusion of size, but I still think the rocks will be gone.

In a 10g, you want maybe 1 dramatic rock. It should probably extend a bit more than half the height of tank, and 1/4 to 1/3 of the width. Center it at an artful angle about one third of the way from the right or left side of the tank. Keep trying until it looks, um, Amanoesque.
