I have 3 types of Moss: Fissidens, Flame and Taiwan.

I need to pull this moss off my driftwood so I can remove it to make room for plants until I get a different type of driftwood later on..

I would like to sandwhich this moss in between some plastic craft canvas and suction cup it to the side of the tank to make a wall. Will this work out with these types of Mosses?
Will it be able to grow out threw the holes and not die?

I have already done it with my Riccia to see how it works.

Yes you can do that. Every moss I've tried will grow through the mess. I have used mess like this and covered it with tulle. It's the stuff they use at weddings and in the scrubby things (for showering). It comes in all colors. Here's a link with a px

The neat thing about using the front side with the tulle is that you can start with it looking green and it will be less visible. You will have to sew/secure the tulle too the plastic canvas with thread or plastic fishing type line but that's not too hard. Just pull the netting/tulle tight and you're good to go.

It will grow through that mesh. I had monosolenium tenerum growing through a filter bag until I killed it.

The tulle idea is great. Some people would put the moss on a green scrubby pad (for dishes) and cover it with Mesh. attached to something more secure. then the moss has something to grab. It gets a bit thick that way, but seems to be a good idea.

Wow, sorry to interrupt this thread. Having a moss background sounds like such a sweet idea. Does anyone have one and can you upload a picture for us (me) to see? I think that I want to do this with my tank!!!
Go over to aquamoss.com and look scroll down to the article about creating a moss wall. At the bottom of the article he has a picture of what his looks like. It looks awesome I've yet to try it though.
