Hello there. My name is Deon. I've been in the hobby now for 2 years and am quite enthused with the results thus far. I have a ten gallon tank equiped with a bio wheel mini, 50 watt heater, and a home made 3L Yeast CO2 gen.
This last setup has been running for 4weeks and doing well considering. The biggest problem I've had so far was when I removed the under gravel filter, I had fed my fish with live black worms in the past and had a rather prosperous colliny going in the gravel. Unfortunetly the lack of adiquite water flow forced them to the cerface of the gravel for O2 thus allowing them to fall pray to my Blue Ram and Rummynose Tetras. Faced with this they, I'm assumeing decided to sufficate rather than be eaten, go figure. The resulting mass suicide fowled my water and before I could figure out what was the cause of a sudden onset of Ick, I had lost 3 of 4 rummys and my blue ram. I now have 12 species of plants, i don't have the list at this moment but will inlude it soon. I got my one remaining rummy 4 new Friends and also got what will hopfully become a mateing pair of gold rams. No digital camera so pictures may take a while.
Thanks for the time.
