Trimming Java moss

You need to trim the moss or it will detach from the wood or the bottom will riot if no light gets through. It's good to trim it often so the moss can branch out and grow into a thicker mass.
There is 2 way to trim moss attach on objects.
1. is to remove the object from the tank and turn it upside down so you can collect the cuttings when you trim it. That way you wouldn't have cuttings floating around.
2. is to cut it inside the tank. I would just take a pair of scissor and cut it across leaving about a inch in height.
