I'll start this off with a couple simple comments

I think James did a wonderfull job at growing some amazing plants.

As an aquascape, I find the extreme "colorscape" to be harsh on the eyes. I always loose focus and want to stare at the softer areas of the tank.

I do particularly like the stellata wall and the Sag on the left.

I really do like how James documented everything. I remember clearly how I went through that thread as a newbie. It added lots of insight to my beginnings.

I think Gnatster said it best with the "wow factor" This tank definately wow'd me to start. It is impressive and grabs you. It however can only hold your attention for so long before it becomes overwhelming. In that context, the only thing I can relate it to is a sugary piece of candy.

I just did some very crude color adjustments and I then start liking the scape more. The scape is a mix of color, texture and placement. Mess with any, and you mess with the scape. In this case, I think the color imbalance is what really throws you. Take it back ba few clicks and they are more enjoyable.

Looking at what roger did on the first picture (same idea), I dont find it as distracting.

After personally done "busy scapes" I think I like the less busy ones.
