Does anyone know where I can find a 70 watt metal halide bulb in the 6700k range? I admit I bought the metal halide fixture for a reef tank, so it came with a 70 watt 14k bulb, but now I want to use it for my 15 gallon freshwater tank. Thank you everyone in advance for your time and expertise.

4200K is available there. There are no 6700K 70 watt bulbs available on the market. you can get 8000k bulbs from WGN out of Hong Kong but htey are extremely green and need to be used in conjunciton with another flourescent bulb to make them look good.

You best option is the Aquamedic 10000K bulb it can be found on Ebay but costs about $70-80 ea. That is the best looking bulb available for the 70 watt lighting for planted tanks.

The link I provided was to a cheap low K alternative to the $80 Aquamedic bullbs.
