Loreto Tetra - Hyphessobrycon loretoensis
Anybody have experience with this fish? I saw them several years ago in a LFS, but not since. I may see if a LFS can order them. The Baensch atlas says they are "recommended for an experienced aquarist's community tank". So, is it unusually sensitive? Or is this just another case of the literature reporting something other than common experience?
Also, I recently put 4 Emperor Tetras in the tank that the Loreto T's would go in. Any compatiblity problems? I am still trying to decide how I feel about the Emperors. I thought they would be somewhat more peaceful than they are. They nip at my hand and chase each other, but don't seem to bother the other inhabitants. Would increasing the population help? Or is this just harmless behavior?
Thanks,
Jay Reeves
