Hi I've been trying to reach you through email with no luck. I'm wondering about how many stones come in a 5lb box of manten stone. I realize it's just an estimate but an idea would be helpful.

Also what kind of stones are these? I'm trying to create something like this in my 37G 36x12x22, I'm not sure how many lbs I would need. Any input would be great.

Thanks!

They've always been very helpful to me over email. Sometimes it can take a day or two to respond but no biggie. I also found that they are very helpful if you call them. Their phone number is listed on their site in the contact us section. Any time I have spoke with them they've been great. I would highly recommend just giving them a call.

Having said all that, for a 37G tank you will probably need at least 30lbs. I would personally buy 50lbs for a tank that size. Manten stone gets pricey in a hurry. As for your question about "what kind of stones are these,"... well they are inert stones collected in Asia. Not much else to say about them other than they look nice in an aquarium.

Oh wow thanks that's alot of stones I don't think I can do Manten then. Also I wasn't asking what manten stones are I was wondering if the stones in the pic are Manten or something else. Sorry for the confusion. Do you know what they are?

Oops, I thought that pic was part of a signature. Sorry, I didn't really look hard enough. They look kind of like manten, maybe yamaya. Not enough white spots to be zebra and definitely smoothter than seiryu or ryuoh.

I called Aquaforest two weeks ago and asked how much manten stone to buy for a Mini M iwagumi and they told me 15 lbs. That stone is just too pricey.

Isn't your 37g 30x12x22? I believe that 36 is a typo.
Actually I did put wrong measurements but its 36x12 the height is almost 21" I really don't know my actual size when I bought it they told me it was a 40g breeder and at the time I was like um ok. but now I know it's not and after plugging in my dimensions somewhere I can't remember where it came out to close to 38 gallons. I've almost been confused by what size my tank actually is. Any thoughts?
