Hi joshvito,

I would occasionally get a four leaf node or two in the brighter areas when I grew it submerged. It seemed to help if I removed the runners with the tendency to grow the four leaf nodes, the four leaf growth seemed to diminish.

I tried an experiment growing it in very shallow (1") depth pans under lights. In areas where the leaves became emerged, they typically became 4 leaf nodes; it could have been because they were emerged or just closer to the lights.

Maybe it is just a mutation?
The plant has always been in 7"+ water, it does get a bit more bounced sunlight lately, but not enough to cause the Rotala rotundafolio to grow any faster. The tank has topsoil capped with RedSea Florabase. I only does Flourish once a week, and the occasional excel dose.

Hi Joshvito,
Is this a new occurrence for you? Did you always have single node in the past?

I also have mixed leaf types in my tank. I started the tank about 3 weeks ago, the new growth are mixed, regardless of the location of the tank. I am using high light (150W over ada 60H) and I dose iron/trace and N/P/K alternate daily on weekdays.
