See my old 90 gal from nthe mid 1990's, it had an entire wall of Anubias, ferms and Java fern under 2x175w.
Folks gave me a hard time when I said they grew fast(no one believed me) and many still don't. I have no issues trimming them like stem plants.
Incindentally, I saw a 9 year old plant in a small incad lighted tank the other day, it grows a leaf every 1-2 years
. Not a lick of algae.
Anubias in higher light tanks make very useful scaping scenes also.
