hai all!

I would like to know whether there are micron filters available (like the HOT Magnum Canister Filter from marineland), that are available in europe.

I would like to use this kind of filter to remove little particles from the water after a waterexchange.

thanks!

If you are using a canister filter already, all you have to do is add some filter floss or pillow stuffing (hyper-allergenic) to one of the caparments.

is indeed that as effective? My inlet is in the back covered by plants, I doubt that that it can rapidly remove little particles from the water (like green water).

but thanks!

I don't think any small filter element will remove 1 micron sized particles. That is the reason diatomaceous earth filters were developed. Filters that remove such small particles have a very small capacity before they are plugged up.

I used a HOT Magnum 250 filter for several months, and it absolutely didn't remove extremely fine particles. It was a pretty effective filter for general filtration, but it would plug up within less than a week. People who use that filter for green water removal do so by charging it with DE first, and recharging it often.
