Any suggestions on moving a dwarf hairgrass patch? The patch is about 4 x 12 inches.

I was thinking of treating it like a patch of sod, or maybe sliding a flat piece of plastic under it. Then transferring it to the next tank.

I plan on using the same type of substrate in the next aquarium.

Any input would be welcome
thanks

It depends on how thick the root system is. If its thickly intertwined, then it will pull up easily as a mat, if not, if its loosly, sparsley intertwined, then it will pull up in pieces. Either way it will be messy, and you will want to do a major water change to get rid of silt and nasties you unearthed. If this is a small, shallow tank, it will be much easier.
