my pantanal is doing great- so great now its actually very boring.
Ive got the color I want in it and everything but idk I just dont seem to find interest in it so much as I thought I would.

I am looking for a type of rotala that turns deep red. Already have mac- surprisingly its the only plant I find a fun challenge in currently. lol.
Moving some things around, etc.

Im not even set on a rotala but here are the plant replacement ideas I had:
Rotala sp 'Pink'
Rotala sp. "H'Ra"
Rotala "Nanjenshen"
or some kind of myrio maybe even?
idk. Something that gets pretty lush and is trainable :p maybe ludwigia arcuata?

so lost. lmao.

rotala mexicana red, rotala magenta (macrandra variant) ???

nanjenshan needs excessive PAR to get really colorful tops.

arcuata tends to get ratty with roots @ the base.

in my specie cups I have just to save plant sp. ive kept- I had some arcuata (like 5 stems that were super long and skinny lol) so I put those in there, may remove in the future but I just want to see what it looks like in high light.
Hey just a FYI mr. guppy I changed out one of my bulbs for a geisman super purple since one died. I gotta buy new bulbs cause the default bulbs that the light came with are starting to dim out on me.
Looked at prices of bulbs $$$$
30$ per bulb T-T
Rip my first paycheck!

How much par you thinking cause I have over 120 par (guessing, me and burr tried to figure it out a while back and he thought it was like 200 or something lmao, so I always just say its above 120)

Light is very deceptive.
Without a meter it can be a crap shoot.
PAR is one thing but getting PUR over 70 is yet a bigger hurtle.

Tubes are expensive.
Glad all my tanks have a solid LED arrangement.

ugh its so hot in my room (talking 90+ here) 24/7 since we havent fixed the thermostats in this new house- that I actually think its affecting my bulbs. Ive had 2 go out now in 2 days (one is just about to go out now) so I need to order some ASAP when I get the $ I take it. I think BRS is the only place that carries the aquaflora bulbs I want sadly! will definetly give the tank a different look.

And yea I agree par is def. a long shot when it comes to guessing, its Extremely inaccurate.

Yeah... Replacing 4 T5HO bulbs every six months costs me $100/year. I need to switch to LED as well.
Same, but I know little of LED's compared to my knowing of T5HO information.
LED to me is confusing, and is really a deceptive market atm due to its "fad"

I have a LED that did cost me a Very pretty penny but I just never use it cause
1- theres only 1 of the LED's
2- Not as bright as my T5

If someone could recommend me to a LED that has full color spectrum and gives 150+ Par id be more than happy to invest lmfao
