Hey all! :)
Just wrote a new post on Bucephelandra "Kualakuayan"#1, this is the first of a series of posts on this genus of Aroid, so check back often! But for now go check this one out by clicking the link below. Here's a snippet of what you'll find there:

The variety we will be covering today is Bucephelandra sp."Kualakuayan"#1.

It was named "Kualakuayan" because it was found near that town, it is a small town in Borneo's Kalimantan Tengah region.
The unique characteristics of this variety is that:
1. Grows very tightly packed together
2. Lighter green color
3. Little to no ribbing/waving on the edges of the leaves
4. Leaves grow to a max length of about 1 1/2 in. and 1/2 in. wide

Wow, more Bucephelandra species! I love these plants. I tried growing the Bucephalandra motleyana species but it didn't do well for me. I've been looking to get more ever since.

Is the 'Kualakuayan' species hard to grow?

I love your blog, lots of interesting posts in there. The new fern is really nice looking too.

Thanks for sharing and please keep us updated!

Zapins - Tyvm for the kind words :) Kualakuayan is not that difficult to grow as with the other Bucephelandra, although it is slower than the common "Brown" species out of West Kalimantan.
