hay i am starting up a new tank. its an old marinetank with sump. i am just looking for help to see if this will work for fresh water, and how should i set up the sump and what should i put in the sump. thank you
Yes you can use the tank with a sump for freshwater. I think you would set it up the same way you would for a salt tank just without some of the salt tank equipment (like protein skimmer).
If you're just starting w/ shrimp I recommend the Red Cherry Shrimp (RCS). They are a cool red color and are very hardy and breed very well. They were my first shrimp and got me hooked. . .
But you'll need to think about how to stop the shrimps getting into the sump. Or leave some swiming space in the first stage so you can fish them out later.
