Does any one have any ideas why my nitrates don't seem to be used up?
They are at 10ppm and haven't moved for over a week.I dont have a high fish load so what else could be the cause.
55 gallon moderately planted
4 wpg pc lighting
pressurized co2
ph- 6.7
kh- 5 deg.
nitrates- 10 ppm
phosphates- .05-1.0

It would be very hard to answer your question without knowing how the aquarium is planted. What plants do you have in what amounts? How long has the aquarium been estabalished? What is the substrate?

It would also help to know where you acquire your watersource from. You could have nitrates in your tap. Very common in the U.S.

John do you dose potassium (K) and if so how much?

I have seachem pottassium and I just started dosing it, so I'll see if that helps. Thanks for the suggestion.
