If you can eat it I doubt it would harm your fish. The SiO2 may increase the occurance of diatom algae, but ottos will take care of that.

But read the label again. NoSalt has mineral oil. :D

It does add a bit of an oily film to the surface of the water. But for whatever reason that film never lasted more than a few hours in my tanks.

Also - the price of NoSalt - ordering K-containing dry chemicals from any online supplier will be cheaper in the long run.

Hmm... there is another downside of NoSalt - you can accidentally use it as regular salt and you will discover that it tastes really nasty, hehe
