Hello everyone. It's been a while since I have posted or had a tank running. I started a new tank and am having an algae that I have no experience with. The setup is a 14g cube with a uns120 no co2 at the moment (tank is coming next week), Eco complete, and a 30w LED. I've always had a hard time with stem plants so I thought I would try using some Osmicote for the first time. I am not adding any other ferts to the tank. It's been over a week since the setup and I seem to be stuck at the Nitrite/Nitrate faze of the cycle. I'm not sure if that's the cause of the algae or what. Is there something I mist by adding the Osmicote? Here is a copple of picks. The worst part is on my Xmiss mos. Water Light Plant Organism Sunlight

New tanks always have algae issues. The system is finding a balance and algae is part of that balance. It's taking up nutrients and growing in place of plants. Your tank looks like it doesn't have many plants.

I'd get more plants, scrub off the algae on plant leaves, and do water changes.

Thank you for the reply. I don't have a whole lot of plants. I've been doing a 1/3 water change every two or three days. Still can seem to get the Nitrites/Nitrats under control. Could I have done something wrong with the Ozmicote? Also, keep manually removing the algae and it comes back overnight. Here is a shot of the hole tank.

How much osmicote did you add?
How much osmicote did you add?
Maybe a tablespoon/tablespoons and a half if I had to make a guess.
It's not too much. I'd let the tank cycle for a few more weeks.
