What is your pH now? They are pretty adaptable. It's better to leave them alone with a consistent pH and clean water than trying to change it.
I have a group of Cardinals in one of my few non-C02 tanks with a pH of almost 8 and they do just fine.

If you have plants, then C02 would certainly be a good option for both the plants and fish. :)

A pH of 7 is just fine for them.

How much it would drop with C02 depends on the hardness of your water and how much you inject.

I agree, leave 'em be

i have one tank of cards at 6.8 (CO2 injected)...
...and another tank, (no C02), is somewhere over 7 and those cards are just as happy.
