Can anyone recommend a good phosphate test kit? I've been using LaMotte's but the blue color of the octet samples and the blue of my sample are so different, it's hard to really make a match. The octet blue is more of a slate blue and my sample is a sky blue.

The one I use is lfs Hagen Nutrafin PO4 kit. It is simple and fast. If you learn how to read it you can find zero, 0.1, 0.5, 1 and over 2 ppm resolution which is perfectly sufficient for aquarium use. The actual reading is not about colour change, it is colour density or luminance. Darker means more ppm.
