Here is my hardscape so far on my 22g/85L...

I just need to add plants... and fish!

What do you guys think?

Stocking plan is:

10x-12x Rummynose Tetras
2x German Blue Rams
6x Panda Corys
2x Bristlenose Plecos

Oh and BTW, the 2 Balas and 2 Angels in their are only in their temporary - they are going to new homes today ) Thius afternoon..

Personally I would go with 8 tetras, 2 rams, 6 corydoras, and 2 plecos. To be honest I still think that would be too much for a 22g. I think it would be better, especially with introducing such a bioload, to begin with the tetras and rams, then at a later date if you still think you have room add the plecos and corys.

I have a 20g and I wouldn't even put more than 8 ottos and 6 ember tetras. Of course you'll find other people that stock a 10g with 2 danios, 2 platies, 2 mollies, 2 corys, 2 rams, and a handful of tiger shrimp. So, I do think you're on the right track with a relatively smaller assortment of fishes.

What kind of plants are you considering?
What kind of substrate are you using?
What dosing techniques will you be using?
Low-Light...High-Light?
Etc...?

I just have plain tiny gravel, not using Co2 or Ferts... Yet..

I am starting with a few plants.. Then working myself up..

Light is 33watts -1.6w/p/g..

Stock isn't definate yet though ) I definately want teh Rams and the Tetras though LOL

Go a bit slow with increasing the load though. As you increase the load, if you feel that the filter is not able to cope with the load, you have the option of adding another one, replace the filter with a larger one or to reduce the load on filter by reducing the fish count.

Its fully cycled and once the 4 largish fish go to their new homes this afternoon, I'll be buying the plants ))

Wouldn't that disrupt the bioload though? Because the tank had 4 largish poopers and now their will be only plants..?

Should I get a few tetras to start off with? Or should I wait a few more weeks?

Try to maintain the same bioload (or pooping as you would have it) during the transition of angels and sharks to tetras and rams as you add plants. I think the plants, at least if they're coming from stores that hold them in the same water as their fish, can acclimate fast enough. Then, slowly add more fish as per your desire, and as the filter becomes adjusted you will have to monitor adjust the chemical dosing as needed to combat any spikes.

When I mentioned dosing, I mean the dosing basics, which I would consider doing at the same time you add plants. It's not too costly to just dose macronutrients, i.e. Nitrogen, Potassium, Phosphorus, if you're using beginner plants.

Let us know what plants you're considering and I'm sure we will all have some advice for you. (When starting out, most prefer low-light, fast growing plants such as java fern and java moss, hygrophilia difformis [wisteria], anubias species, easy stem plants, and cryptocorynes(sp?).)

I'm pretty sure most would agree with me, but I could be wrong.

As far as the plants are concerned, you can go with densely planted tank right away. This will only have a beneficial effect on the tank by helping to remove the excess nutrients in the water (especially if you have stem plants).

Once you add the plants, add about 4-6 tetras. This would be a good start.

Cheapest way to densely plant the tank is get some moss or and egeria densa and buy a few stems from some at the forum near the state you live. If you buy from an individual you may get more than you expect. If you buy plants that are grow with injected Co2 you need KNO3 to help them to adjust to non injected Co2 tank. So does that mean you are in Australia? Where are you? Hard to recommend where to buy plants, since we don't know where you are.
