I set this up a couple weeks ago, but, never got around to starting a journal on it, until now! This is set up with a dirt bottom (couple of spoonfuls of a pre-used substrate mix with top soil, clay kitty litter, fluorite, sand) topped with pool filter sand. Plants include a Vesuvius sword, cardinal plant, crypto wendtii green, duckweed, frogbit, and and unknown elodea-like plant. Lighting is just the stray light from my 2gal jar, a 65w (equivalent) led...don't remember the actual wattage.

I decided to tear this down. I really just don't like the jar...can't see into it. so, it's gone! The Vesuvius sword was actually growing pretty good...I threw it in with a plant package so it's off to a new home. Bye bye, ugly jar!
