Planting HC on rock

Today I bought 3 rocks with Dwarf Baby Tears also known as HC on them. can I plant the rocks underneath my flourite sand substrate, or should I really go through the painstaking and time consuming measures of peeling it off of the rock and planting each plantlet into directly into the sand? I am running pressurized CO2 and have more than ample lighting with my 150-watt HQI metal halide and 36" T-5 lighting. Obviously I'd preferred to just plant the rocks under the sand with just the actual plants sticking up through the sand. Thanks in advance for your answers!

why bother? I would love to grow HC on any rock! I just don't know how they do it:)
