Wow really? hmm that's probably true, can anyone confirm? The LFS I bought it from sold it to me as frogbit so I wouldnt know the difference between the two. Thanks for noticing.

It's commonly mistaken as frogbit. True amazon frogbit are circular in leaf-shape. They also have very long and hairy (ew) roots than dangle underneath them.
Giant duckweed on the other hand are oblongish in shape, like the one you have in the picture. They also have short roots.

You can google images of giant duckweed and amazon frogbit. The difference between the two is quite obvious with the leaf shape! Hope this helps :-D
