Found this site of aquatic/marsh plants from Washington state. Many of hteme are common throughout the US. There seem to be decent pics of most of them. Just thought I would share the link.

I think most of those are in Lake Washington. I remember huge belts of plants about 10' from shore when I would go snorkeling in the lake when I was a kid. It was quite the sight.
