I just started a sea water fishtank which I did by collecting clean sea water and filtered sand. My fish tank has got an air system and an ammonia filter. I have just done that, but have also acquired a root of a posidonia plant which everybody says is good. Am a bit skeptical about planting it in before I put in any fish. Do you think there are any risks involved? I am experimenting anyway, but would like to hear some opinions

This is a freshwater plant forum so we may not be able to help you with detailed saltwater questions. That said, I don't foresee any problems if you add the Posidonia first. The plant will help remove ammonia and waste products so it should help prepare the tank for fish.
