PPS PRO and Fe

I am dosing PPS PRO and I have a couple questions.
  1. Do I need to add Fe?
  2. I use RODI and my KH is 8 and GH is 0. Do I need to add anything?
  3. I mixed PPS PRO with RODI water (into 2 seperate containers). There is a layer of precipitate in bottom of each plastic container.
  4. Is there a mold issue?

Thanks

1. You can always add Fe is you like, but usually it is already in your trace mix. A little more will not hurt your tank.
2. Yes, although plants don't need KH (carbonates), they do need GH (calcium and magnesium) A good rule is that you GH should be at least 5 and if your KH is higher than 5, your GH should be at least the same value or higher.
3. This might be undissolved salt. Try heating the water a little (no boiling) and shake very well. If there is still some precipitate, it might be contamination from the salts (unharmful) or you mixed two unmixable salts like iron and phosphate.
4. Could be, you can add some excel or equivalent, or add some acid, like HCl to prevent this.
