If you have access to swimming pool or spa supplies, the muriatic acid sold for that use is very good for checking rocks. Just be very careful when using that or any other strong acid.
Rocks, vinegar and the bubble effect

I have posted a similar post but I was wondering. When you pour vinegar over rocks are the bubbles noticeable? Would submersing the rock completely in vinegar make it easier to tell?
