All,
I've had fish aquariums for a long time to include saltwater, but I'm new to the planted tank world and I've spent months reading about it and somehow am still missing something. I've got a 90 gallon w/inert substrate, about 2.5 WPG, tried DIY Co2 but now am going powered, daily dosing w/Excel and Flourish; all to no avail or success. I can't even get an Amazon sword to thrive.

I'm moving in the next year, but would really like to get together with someone in the SA area for a chat. I even have a kegorater for those who are willing to perform a home visit to tell/show me what I'm not doing right.

Thanks -
Rob

The problem with your amazon is the inert substrate.....amazons are heavy root feeders so you need to either use nutrient rich substrate or start putting root tabs for it to feed from.

Also if you could test your water to see what your parameters are and post some pictures of the plants that are not doing well....this way we can help you with the deficiencies
