It is difficult to do and usually only possible when they are adults. The female will have a larger (stomach) which gets obviously larger when she is carrying eggs underneath. Other than that, there's no certain way AFAIK.

I just received my first shippment of tiger shrimps and would like to know if you can tell the difference between the males and females?
