Hi all,
Is there a prophylactic for snails that work without damaging the plant? Will it also work for algae? I was thinking CuSO4, but I am not sure how effective or how long I should soak. What about bleach? Thanks.

Why not just get some fish to snack on your snail population? Even if done for only a few days and you return it to your lfs afterwards, it is certainly safer, IMO, than adding copper which will kill your inverts and damage your plants.

Algaefix is good. It will kill invertabrates. And it will kill algae. Your plants wont miss a beat.
