One of my penpals in Japan is Mr. Yam of Aquaforest - a store in Tokyo's Shinjuku district. He told me the store recently ran an aquascaping contest and the entries are posted here:

The winners are here:

Definitely a nice store to visit if you're ever in Tokyo - no discus, but plenty of catfish (corys and pl*cos), lots of small fish (tetras, etc...), several varieties of shrimp, and TONS of aquarium plants plus a whole bunch of those pricey Amano goods! The store was highlighted in a recent issue of Amano's Aquajournal - I posted a summary from my visit here:

Enjoy!

The pics from the Japanese shop are awesome! It's my dream to see plants of that variety and quality available in our shops here someday. Thanks for sharing!

I would love to see that variety of plants in my LFS that neatly arranged and in such clean tanks.

Thanks for sharing!

Phil... I've been there once, I really like the place. I bought some Yo-Yo loaches and some driftwood. I wanted some Cherry shrimp but at the time you where out. I plan on coming back one day. Do you own/manage the store?

That's great, maybe I'll see you the next time I drop by.
