It has come to our attention that a SPAM company has a bot that finds forums and registers bogus usernames. It places pornographic websites in the user profile. Like many other boards, we have been hit as well.

We have taken affirmative steps to block this bot from continuing to create bogus usernames. We will be going through our memberlist to find and delete bogus usernames.

I think phpBB has a mod that puts up those picture based letters & numbers for verification upon registering. Might prove helpful.

Good Call Daemonfly. I know I have had to go through that process on some other phpbb, and that should help stop this problem.
