Do you ever have problems with plant debris clogging it up? Do you need to routinely clean it or anything? I have used one on a marine tank but am wondering about this potential issue.
They work great for planted tanks. If you have plants that have larger than normal leaves you may need to tend to it to remove them. But, I dont find it being a time bandit.
i think good surface agitation will rid the need of a unsightly extractor which gets clogged every so often. it will also increase the O2 levels in your tank which greatly increases the plants and fishes overall health
jazz man is correct.. Either spraybar placement or Lilly type pipes help.
or even a powerhead would get it done.
Powerhead is always a great addition.
Plants love flow and will also increase plant health for the better in your tank by eliminating dead-spots and the like.
