If the tank has a little algae in it that'll help too, I've noticed that a lot of livebearer fry (and adults) like to graze a bit.
I have a growing herd of Platies and they are hands down the best algae eaters I've ever kept. No contest. However, they do multiply in a planted tank. It's to the point that I'm considering a Betta for population control.

A betta? A betta will eat them?
I would think so, they are predators. If not, a large Angel certainly will.

A tiny one got chased out into the open right into the mouth of an adult Platy, which then burped a bubble, just like the cartoons.
