Hmm... that has been a subject of debate. A LFS has some for sale and they have it listed as a crypt and I've discussed it with them without clear conclusion. I have a crypt that is spiraly - though with larger leaves - so I thought this was different. It's so tricky to identify these things...

Your LFS is right. Identifying plants can be tricky, but not always. I'll put my bottom dollar on C. retrospiralis (which is a really nice plant!). It spreads by runners, right? C. helferi doesn't. If you take a picture of your other crypt and put it up in the plant ID forum, we should be able to figure out what it is.

The pile of small stems and 1/3 of the crypt/cyperus is spoken for. That leaves about 15 stems of the Alternanthera, 6 crypt/cyperus plants, and the java fern grafted onto slate.
