Due to previous suggestions the upcoming meeting will be on Saturday rather then Monday. I will be arranging a presentation of some kind for the meeting. As usual there will be trading, snacks, chatting, and general revelry.

Suggestions are welcome. Please let me know if you can make it.

Love to but I'll be moving- have to catch up with you perhaps in Feb-
penny

PS Zap don't be discouraged if you don't get many answers or people attending Jan 2nd....this time of year is bad, people tend to very busy during the holidays and some folks just don't like to drive in the winter weather.

Zap,
Rolling home to Florida for Christmas. Just made last minute New Years plans and now I am not making it back till the 3rd. I really enjoyed last meeting and am disappointed I'm not going to make it.

Well... so far its just you and my friend Brian. I need to chase down everyone by email and on PT etc... and notify them that there is a meeting since I haven't finished compiling an email/phone list yet. I'll post an update in a little while. Please feel free to help contact people!

Michael, thank you for hosting again, perhaps I can make the next one as Saturdays are good for me. Hitting up the casino with some out of town friends that weekend unfortunately. I enjoyed the last one (especially the Greek snacks) and have some more fert questions. Hooked up the new CO2 system awhile back and things are looking good. Your red plant (Rotala sp?) turned green in my tank though. Ferts or the PC lighting? Hmmm.

Just an update, 4 people have confirmed that they will be coming to the Saturday meeting. I'm still waiting to hear from a few other people. Please let me know if you are coming!!!

Not a problem :) I'm glad you had a good time and liked the Greek food. My grandmother is happy that you liked the snacks :). Co2 is great, you should be seeing lots of fast growth. The rotala's color depends primarily on nitrogen and lighting intensity. My tanks have chronically low N levels and high light, so it makes sense that they went back to their normal green color. What kind of lights are you using?

Using the Coralife compact fluorescents 130watts total on the 20g long. Dosing Flourish every other day. Actually, now that I look closer the latest growth is red, close to the surface and light, high CO2, Nice! The tank is not just in experiment in Java moss growth! Stem plants are kinda leggy though. Time to investigate T5 or MH, huh? And some dry ferts.

I've got lots of free plants for people who come. There will be a presentation and possibly an interactive fish tank rescape demo.

Not to dig up an old post. But i dont think lighting is your problem... Your pushing almost 6.5 wpg. I'd check your nutrient levels and go from there...

Glad to see there is a CT plant society now. I'll hopefully be able to start attending future meetings. I'll wait for details.
