Hi there,

I am putting some plans together for a 4ft x 2ft x 2ft heavily planted discus tank together and am unsure what substrate to go with. In fact I am fairly naive what direction to go in.

Also is dark red volcanic soil/clay laterite?

How do I know what clay is laterite? I will be using a lot of root feeding plants in this tank
