Hallo, I would like all of you to help me. I would like to ask in which part of the USA does the biggest amount of aquarium maniacs live. Where the aquarium hobby and especially aqua plants are the most popular in USA??
Please help me.

but we live on the internet

Really, there are not that many involved in the aquatic plant part of the hobby. Communicating on the internet has helped us all to do better as we can learn from others around the world.

One could also point to the Mid-Atlantic area with its plethora of large and small lfs's and various organizations. In a 2 year period there was or is the National Conventions for; AGA, MACNA, Killies group and Catfish Group. Locally one can find; Greater Washington Aquatic Plant Assoc., Potomac Valley Aquarium Society, Capital Area Cichlids, Chesapeake Killifish Club, Chesapeake Marine Aquarium Society and Washington Area Marine Aquarium Society. Obviously to support that many organizations and shops there would have to be a sizable population of "Fish Geeks"

Are we talking about fish or plants, big difference.

If you look on the East Coast - Tri-State Area (CT/MA/NJ/NY/PA)

We have North Jersey Aquarium Society with famous fish people which have fish named after them - Dr. Paul Loiselle (Person in charge in Brooklyn Aquarium/Trips to Madagascar/fish named after him), Rosario LaCorte (Trips to South America/fish named after him). We have PhD Ted Coletti (Livebearers/Biotope Specialist known in US, FAMA Editor) and many other of small caliber but one of the best breeders on East Coast. Host of ACA 2001 .....

Brooklyn Society - Saltwater Specialists

MAKA - Mid Atlantic Killie Association (Host of AKA)

NEC - North East Council which has ~15 clubs included (Karen Randall)

and many many others.................
