If this is the plant I know as v. nana you will probably love it: link. It's the one with very thin leaves that go up to the surface. You can see the runners on the very front and to the right. They are very thick, thicker than the leaves themselves.

Here are some details:
After planting this plant has a "waiting period" of about 2 weeks. After that it spreads like a weed.

The plant can reach 3 or 4 feet in length so don't even think of using it in a small tank.

Some of the leaves get yellow and need to be removed. It is impossible to just pull them out - you need to cut them close to the root.
