I have a 29 gallon tank and all I am supplementing in the water colomn is excel and flourish. I have root tabs also.
The problem I am having is that my rotala has holes in its leaves. Not the newest ones but the older leaves. I would think the root tabs would be enough but maybe not? Also my java fern is turning at the tips. Could i be missing something?

Thanks

you're providing a carbon source plus trace elements, however you're plants are missing out on the macro fert elements. you should be providing N,P,K. these are the main requirements for your plants. and depending on what kind of plants you have, most gain their nutrients from the water column and not through their roots.

look into one of the fertilizing regiment stickies for either the EI or PPS methods at the top for info that suits you best. i suggest the PPS method.

hope this helps
