What types of platstic are fish/invert safe?

I would like to make a lattice across the back of my tank to encourage the growth of small plants such as riccia or Baby's Tears. I thought to use some plastic mesh I found online,, but don't know if it is safe for fish and inverts. I believe the mesh is a blend of HDPE and vinyl. I'd appreciate any thoughts.
