My 10g nano tank has been setup for a couple of weeks now. It has a fair amount of plant material and is currently home to a couple Caridina Japonica.

This evening I noticed that there are several small white specks (size of the point of an extra-fine ball point pen) on the inside of the glass. Upon closer observation, the white specks appear to have thread like tails and are moving/jumping around.

What do I have on my hands?

Related in some way or not, I have just realized that I am going to have to add a gas separator/bubble counter to my DIY CO2 setup. I am getting the frothy white matter accumulating between the end of my tubing and Hagen much that the ladder is clogged.
