For almost a week, we've been having very hot, humid weather here and I had noticed that my betta was starting to gasp for air because the water got so warm so I added an airstone to his tank.

It hasn't even been in there for a full 24 hours and I had already noticed some very small, white spots on the gravel not too far away from the air wand. Could this be fungus or something much worse? It wasn't there yesterday so I'm assuming the added oxygen had something to do with it.

I'd appreciate any help. :)
